A syndicate can have 10 owners, 100 owners or more, depending on the syndicate structure.
A syndicate with 100 or more owners would cost members substantially less than one with 10 owners, as your payments are relative to the size of the group.
The cost of a share in a syndicate will depend on what the horse was purchased for.

Syndication is a cost-effective and easy way of enjoying racehorse ownership. Syndicators will sell different percentages or shares in horses so you can choose your own level of involvement.

Visit the Cape Turf Club website where you will find the list of licensed CTC Syndicates in Cape Town, you can connect with any of them to join. You can also contact Kurt Felix at the Cape Turf Club at kurtf@caperacing.co.za if you are looking for a more detailed explanation than the website offers.

Each Syndicate has different structures where you can purchase shares from as little as 1% to 16%.

Normally it covers all costs associated with the horse, for a period of time, but that does vary.
It would be important to ask the syndicate manager at the time of signing up what the cost covers, and if that includes the training and vet bills.
Syndicates are normally a lot more cost-effective for first-time owners as they do cover many more of the additional costs.

That depends on the syndicate package that you are buying into.

You will receive a Cape Turf Club badge with your syndicate colours at a once-off fee of R300. Parade ring access when you have declared runners. Access to the syndicate racing pavilion. Winning moments: complimentary digital photograph if your horse races/wins, race replay, and Interview emailed on the day. Win bonuses applicable. Complimentary hospitality on syndicate launch race day, Training centre visits, morning coffee gallops, weekly newsletter, raceday previews.

The badge cost is R300 (ex VAT). The lead time for badges is 2 – 3 weeks.

No, as part of a syndicate you are not required to get your own colours, you will automatically become a part of the syndicate and share in the colours of the horse that you own a share in.

That depends on the preparation and age of the horse. This will differ from syndicate to syndicate. Your syndicate manager will keep you updated on the progress of your horse.

Access to Hollywoodbets Kenilworth and Hollywoodbets Durbanville is free of charge. You can book in the Pocket Power Lounge, at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth, on the 2nd floor. As per the website we have 3 memberships available, all explained in detail on the website.
We are planning on launching social memberships in the near future.

This would also vary, on the number of owners, and how the syndicate is set up. You would need to ask your syndicate manager this question when signing up.

Your syndicate manager will arrange these. Owners are welcome to visit their horses at the training centres, which can be organised with the trainer or syndicate manager.

Yes, you certainly can. Contact the Cape Turf Club where we will assist you in registering your very own syndicate and becoming a registered Cape Turf Club Syndicate.
